BreastScreen NT
Free breast screening is available for women aged 50-74 with no symptoms of breast cancer. Screenings are recommended every two years.
Clinics are located in Darwin and Palmerston. In remote areas, check the BreastScreenNT website for details on “Millie”—the mobile screening bus.
Bosom Buddies NT
Since 2001, Bosom Buddies NT has supported Central Australians affected by breast cancer. As they identified gaps in services, their mission expanded to advocacy—championing better access and care for rural and remote communities.
The group promotes awareness, early detection, and informed choice by sharing resources on diagnosis, treatment, allied health, and complementary therapies.

Alan Walker Cancer Care Centre (AWCCC)
Located at Royal Darwin Hospital, the AWCCC delivers first class cancer care to Territorians.
Services available for NT patients include:

• Other specialist cancer services
National Resources
McGrath Foundation
Supporting families affected by breast cancer, the McGrath Foundation funds specialist nurses across Australia—including rural and regional areas. These nurses provide free physical, emotional and psychological care. Founded in 2005 by Jane and Glenn McGrath, the Foundation is based in Sydney.

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA)
BCNA is the peak national consumer organisation for Australians personally affected by breast cancer. BCNA advocate for, connect support and inform Australians affected by breast cancer and work with a broader network to influence a stronger health care system. BCNA are based in Melbourne and are represented by the Pink Lady silhouette.

Breast Cancer Trials
Breast Cancer Trials runs clinical research across Australia and New Zealand to help prevent, treat, and cure breast cancer. Interested in taking part? Talk to your doctor and visit their website to learn more about clinical trials. BCT also host free online regular Q&A sessions aimed at keeping people informed.
National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF)
NBCF is an Australian not-for-profit organisation that raises money for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. Since 1994, it has invested over $200 million into more than 600 projects across the country. The NBCF is based in Sydney and is represented by the Pink Ribbon.
BreastScreen Australia
BreastScreen Australia provides free mammograms and follow up tests to women aged 40 and over, aiming to detect breast cancer early. While targeting women aged 50-74 without symptoms, women aged 40-49 and 75+ are also eligible. With over 500 locations nationwide, services may vary slightly by state or territory.

So Brave is dedicated to supporting, raising awareness, advocating for change and empowering Australia’s young women with the information, support, and sisterhood they need to get through breast cancer—and thrive beyond it.
Cancer Australia
Established by the Australian Government in 2006, Cancer Australia work to reduce the impact of all cancers, remove disparities in care, and improve outcomes for all people with cancer. They also make recommendations to the Australian Government about cancer policies and priorities.
Cancer Australia develops and distributes clinical guidelines for ‘best practice’ health care to improve the diagnosis, treatment and support of women with breast cancer. Cancer Australia’s head office is in Sydney.
